Position: Courtesy Clerk at Petaluma Market
Part-Time Hours: 8-24 hours per week, 5-8 hour shifts varying from 7AM – 9PM

Hiring for part-time position.

The Courtesy Clerk plays a key role in creating a positive shopping experience for customers. This position is responsible for efficiently bagging groceries, assisting customers with carryouts, maintaining cleanliness throughout the store, and providing excellent customer service. Courtesy Clerks help ensure the front end runs smoothly while upholding the store’s standards of friendliness, safety, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers promptly, courteously, and with a positive attitude.

Bag groceries carefully, ensuring items are packed safely and efficiently.

Assist customers in carrying purchases to their vehicles when requested.

Return shopping carts from the parking lot to the store entrance.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized front-end area, including restrooms, cart areas, and bagging stations.

Collect and properly dispose of trash, recycling, and returned products.

Restock supplies such as bags, paper towels, and sanitizers.

Assist with price checks, returns, and retrieving items for customers as directed.

Support cashiers by keeping lanes organized and providing quick assistance when needed.

Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Minimum Qualifications:

- Associate must be reliable and honest.

- Associate must possess integrity and professionalism in their position.

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to read and write English at an 8th grade level.

- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

- Prior experience not necessary but is a plus.

- Bilingual in English/Spanish not necessary is a plus.

Physical Demands:

- Requires moderate physical efforts. Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing, lifting of weights up to 30 pounds.

Starting wage: $17.97 / hour (wage negotiable with experience)
